Dr. Lee Hlad is a board-certified foot and ankle surgeon at Satilla Foot & Ankle, caring for patients in Waycross, Baxley, and communities across Southeast Georgia. He has served the Waycross community since 2019. His practice centers on complex reconstructive surgery — limb salvage, external fixation, 3D custom implants, Charcot reconstruction, total ankle replacement, and revisional surgery for patients whose previous procedures did not go as planned.

He focuses on these specialty areas that few practices in South Georgia can offer, which means patients who would otherwise travel to Jacksonville or Savannah can be treated closer to home.

Originally from Lowville, New York, Dr. Hlad earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from New York College of Podiatric Medicine in New York City before completing a three-year surgical residency at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio — a Level 1 trauma center where he trained on the full range of foot and ankle trauma and reconstruction. He went on to complete an orthopedic pediatric fellowship in Baltimore, Maryland.

Dr. Hlad has held faculty positions with podiatric residency programs and has served as a fellowship director, training the next generation of foot and ankle surgeons. He is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (FACFAS) and a board-certified foot and ankle surgeon.
